چکیده

JEL Classification: F16, F43 This study examines the impacts of CO2 emissions on economic growth of Vietnam for the period 1986-2015 by using Autogressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The results reveal that there is cointegration relationship between CO2 emissions and economic growth. In the long run carbon dioxide emissions have a significant negative impact on Vietnam economic growth. Therefore, in order to achieve a sustainable growth and development, it is advisable for the Vietnamese government to focus on environmental protection policy.

The Effects of Economic, Financial and Political Developments on Iran’s CO2 Emissions

This study examines dynamic interrelationships and causality relationships among CO2 emissions, economic, political and financial variables over the period of 1971-2011 for the case of Iran as one of the top CO2 emitting countries in the world. The results of ARDL and Johansen cointegration approaches confirm the existence of long run relationship among CO2 emissions, energy consumption, GDP, f...

The Impact of Energy Consumption, Urbanization, Financial Development, and Trade Openness on the Environment in Bangladesh: an Ardl Bound Test Approach

This paper examines the long run cointegrating relation and short run dynamics among carbon emissions, energy consumption, economic growth, urbanization, financial development and openness to trade in Bangladesh by using autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bounds testing approach of cointegration. Empirical results for Bangladesh over the period 1975-2010 suggest an evidence of a long-run rel...

Testing the relationships between energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and economic growth in 24 African countries: a panel ARDL approach.

This study complements existing literature by examining the nexus between energy consumption (EC), CO2 emissions (CE), and economic growth (GDP; gross domestic product) in 24 African countries using a panel autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) approach. The following findings are established. First, there is a long-run relationship between EC, CE, and GDP. Second, a long-term effect from CE to...

Does Non-Fossil Energy Usage Lower CO2 Emissions? Empirical Evidence from China

This paper uses an autoregressive distributed lag model (ARDL) to examine the dynamic impact of non-fossil energy consumption on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in China for a given level of economic growth, trade openness, and energy usage between 1965 and 2014. The results suggest that the variables are in a long-run equilibrium. ARDL estimation indicates that consumption of non-fossil energy ...

The Impact of Trade Openness on Economic Growth in Pakistan; ARDL Bounds Testing Approach to Co-integration

T he main objective of this paper was the investigation of the impact of the trade openness on economic growth in Pakistan. We have been employed both the Johensen and Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) Co-integration together with ECM Techniques for the period 1975-2016. The empirical estimated results are the sound evidence that there exists a short...
